Task #46: SUB-PROJECT 12 - NEW MEDIA TREES |

As the above photo shows we are developing some places of misfit on the Armature Truss. This is caused by sitting on uneven floors, having been moved several times and the technique of lifting the Truss assembled from the floor and then juggling it to its final position. |
This is to be avoided in the final installation at UniCredit. This is a “simple” truss. The alignment is critical as the strength is a factor of precise geometry. Small deviations lead to significant loss of structural integrity. |
Build a scaffold at the proper elevation and erect the Truss on a level platform that induces no joint stress. Plumb up the axis lines that are now on the floor and align the truss properly from the beginning so that it does not have to be moved (to be properly placed in the space) after it is assembled. |
Plumb down from the ends of the assembled truss to locate the truss supports at both ends. Locate and drill bolt holes, set bolts, bring the steel plates to the appropriate level and build truss support legs up to the truss members on the scaffold. After completion, and the Truss is bearing on the floor, remove the scaffolding from both ends - simultaneously - towards the center. |
Task #44: SUB-PROJECT 10 - Set up Armature to top of trusses.
Task #47: Set Scaffold for erecting Trusses.
