With
deployments to the Forum Annual Meeting
and the Club of Madrid in early 2005, along
with other opportunities that now exist, a permanent
fully outfitted and finctional RDS in
Europe may become a reality. |
This
capability will augment the work of our European
ValueWeb members and also make possible the facilitation
of
complex, now seemingly intransigent social issues. |
Between
the January WEF and the March Club of Madrid RDS deployments,
a decision has to be made to leave the
RDS in Europe or return it to the
United States. If the RDS stays, an European team
will be trained to do the deployments and a home
base will be found for between-deployment use. |
There
are a number of issues in regards a permanent euroRDS:
ownership or stewardship; import taxes; deployment
support team; home base; repair and upgrading; branding;
revenue sharing; license; insurance; an European
business entity. These will have to be worked through
in the first quarter of 05. |
At
present, there are several groups that have expressed
interest in employing or owning the RDS.
Some may be able to work together, others, because
of their
ownership structure, cannot. MG taylor has need of
an RDS in the U.S. however there
is a certain logic in leaving the unit in Europe
once it is there. If it stays, we will have to manufacture
a new one. There are capital and timing issues involved. |
In
terms of how all this is sorted out, equal weight
has to be given to mission fulfillment and business
concerns. The RDS enhancement [link] was
a big risk to us and cost a great deal more than
first quarter revenues can justify. ROI has to
be achieved very quickly. At the same time, it took
us 20 years to make a RDS this capable and the “market”
for its best use is just beginning to show itself
- this is not the time to give it all away. |
Out
there somewhere is the opportunity that gets it all
done and advances us towards the operational profile
compatible with our migration to becoming a true
ValueWeb creator [link: iteration6 system integrator] not
a small business stretched all over the globe. |
The
Club of madrid deployment did not happen. A bombing
outside the Congress hall combined with a late start
in the planning for the event caused the sponsors
to go the more conventional path this year. However,
the Davos demonstration did convince their leadership
that the RDS and Taylor Method is a viable option
for the future. |
The
RDS is in storage in Zurich. There
are two opportunities for permanent installations
and two RDS deployments being considered. These will
be profiled in the rest of these notes as their stories
unfold. |
Three
deployments, and possibly four, will be made in June,
05. MG Taylor and AOGG are hosting a DesignShop experience
to advance the MG Taylor Method practices and advance
the development of the European ValueWeb. The RDS
will be set up in two
places for
these events. The first is a space that has been
selected for housing the Liechtenstein NavCenter;
the second, a hotel in Bad Ragaz not far away. At
the hotel two events will be held; a session for the Private Wealth
Forum, as part of the 21iNet Annual Meeting and a planning session for the Liechtenstein
government. The fourth, in the talking stage, is a
DesignShop to start the planning process for the
06 WEF.
[November 19, 2005 update: the session for the Liechtenstein government was put off until 06; the AoGG session was jointly sponsored with TomorrowMakers and MG Taylor and was held in June; the first planning and transfer session for the 06 WEF Annual Meeting was held on the 10th and 11th of November] |

Space
selected for the Liechtenstein NavCenter. This environment
is ready to go and sections of the RDS will be moved
there in early June. |
This
is one room, of several in the hotel at Bad Ragaz for the 21iNet, Private Wealth Council sessions. |
